The world premiere of Rita Blitt’s meditative 10-minute multi-media work, Collaborating With the Past, featuring music by composer Pavel Haas, who died at Auschwitz, took place Sunday, May 1, 2011. It screened continuously at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco, during Holocaust Remembrance Day.
At the premier, artist and filmmaker Rita Blitt, along with Maestro Barry Jekowsky, discussed the role of music and art in the Holocaust.
